Vh Shiraz RoseDelicata’s 2014 vintage Victoria Heights Shiraz Rose D.O.K. Gozo wine has been awarded a Bronze Medal at the 2015 Global Masters Rose wine competition held in the United Kingdom.

The Drinks Business Global Masters wine competitions are a series of competitions where every wine is measured on the taste of its grape and the skill of its winemaker. For the first time all preconceived ideas about the importance of location are pushed to one side as wines from across the world are judged side–by–side by style and price exclusively.

The first of these Global Masters wine competitions took place in mid – April, solely for Rose wines. The Global Masters is a series of blind tasting competitions, drawing in entries from across the world. One of the key elements to its success is the quality and the dedication of the judges involved.

All Global Masters are judged blind by the finest palates in the world – a panel of Masters of Wine, Master Sommeliers and senior buyers only. Only the best competing wines are awarded medals. The calibre of the judges guarantees international recognition of all the medals awarded.

The success of this formula is borne out in the results. While a number of star names from high profile regions prove the solid foundations of their reputation, the medal rankings expose wines from countries not widely known for top quality wine production and some hidden gems are often revealed, such as this Bronze medal-winning Gozitan Victoria Heights Shiraz Rose.

This latest medal is the 7th awarded to Delicata wines this year, following Silver in Burgundy, Gran Menzione in Verona and a Gold, Silver and 2 Bronzes in Bordeaux; bringing the company’s total international medal count up to an impressive 101 awards.
