THE DELICATA CLASSIC WINE FESTIVAL

MALTA’S GREATEST WINE EVENT IS BACK

for its 14th year at the Upper Barrakka Gardens in Valletta

on 6, 7, 8 and 9th August 2015, from 7.00pm until midnight.

***

Here at Delicata, we decided to create a wine event that could be enjoyed by all, and our Delicata Classic Wine Festival was organised for the first time in our nation’s capital city Valletta. The festival was an instant success. So much so that we repeated the event the following year and extended it to Nadur, Gozo. In Valletta, over twenty of our wines will be available to taste as well as some delicious food, and some great live entertainment. If you are a visitor to our islands make sure you take an evening out to attend and enjoy all the festival has to offer.

Even if you’re not a wine enthusiast, the atmosphere of the festival and the breathtaking views from the Upper Barrakka Gardens across Grand Harbour to the floodlit three cities will make your visit worthwhile. And while you’re there perhaps we can tempt you to try some of our delicious, refreshing Maltese wines.

The Way it Works is Easy

Entrance is free. Pay a nominal fee and you can taste and try as many wines as often as you like on the night.

Just purchase a wristband for the night and a souvenir glass (which is then yours to keep) upon entrance of the gardens. The last glasses and wristbands are sold at 11.00pm, the last wine is poured at 11.30pm and the festival closes at midnight. A selection of wine bottles will be sold from the souvenir shop inside the gardens but to take out only. No bottles will be sold for consumption in the gardens during or after the festival. No glasses or bottles will be sold or alcohol poured to anyone under the age of 17.  Non-alcoholic beverages such as water and soft drinks are available for purchase inside the gardens at reasonable prices.

Plenty of Wines on Show to Taste

There will be a wide range of award-winning D.O.K. Malta and Gozo quality wine brands available to taste such as Gran Cavalier, Grand Vin de Hauteville, Pjazza Regina, Medina, Victoria Heights, the Maltese Falcon, Delicata’s Frizzantes, all produced from a number of locally grown grapes varieties such as Chardonnay, Grenache, Merlot, Vermentino, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah and of course the two unique indigenous Maltese grapes Girgentina and Gellewza.

Live Music Every Night

Live entertainment will be performed every night in Valletta by some of Malta’s leading artistes including Big Band Brothers, The Spiteri Lucas Band, The Crowns, Cash & Band and George Curmi (Puse) and his band.

A Selection of Dishes to Enjoy

At the Valletta festival, Maltese dishes such as Suckling Pig, Maltese Fried Rabbit, Pasta, Pizza as well as international dishes including seafood specialities, sushi platters, oriental noodle dishes, Indian dishes, paella and a selection of platters with a variety of tasty cheeses and charcuterie.

Your Table with a Grand View

Downstairs at the Saluting Battery a fully seated restaurant will be set up where diners can enjoy breath-taking views over the harbour and the ancient floodlit 3 cities beyond, whilst enjoying themed buffet nights accompanied by Delicata wines. Reservations are highly recommended.
