Three More Awards for Delicata
Having just bagged two international awards for their 2013 vintage Gran Cavalier Sauvignon Blanc D.O.K. Malta at Vinitaly and their 2013 Medina Rose Grenache I.G.T. Maltese Islands in Bordeaux, Delicata wines have picked up three more awards at this year’s International Wine Challenge (IWC) held recently in London.
The three awarded wines are the 2013 Gran Cavalier Sauvignon Blanc D.O.K. Malta which received a Bronze Medal and two commendations for the 2012 vintage Grand Vin de Hauteville Moscato D.O.K. Malta Liqueur wine and the popular 2013 vintage Pjazza Regina Rose I.G.T. Maltese Islands made from a blend of Syrah and Carignan.
The official tasting note from the London Challenge for the Bronze medal winning 2013 Gran Cavalier Sauvignon Blanc is: “Fresh citrus aromas on ripe lemons and limes, light and fresh on the palate, showing well balanced fruit and lively acidity.”
The London International Wine Challenge, which started 31 years ago, is one of the most prestigious wine competitions in the world and highly ranked amongst many of the world’s leading wine critics.
These latest 5 awards bring Delicata’s international prize count up to an impressive 89, ranging across a variety of thirty different wines from their extensive portfolio; and what is particularly encouraging is that these 5 awards can be squarely put down to the first solo vintage of the very latest 4th generation winemaking family member, Matthew Delicata.
