Delicata Winery Loyalty Awards were presented last week to three business customers who between them have been selling Delicata wines for an impressive 55 years.

A prestigious Platinum distinction award was presented to the owners of the all-new Greens Supermarket who have been successfully purveying Delicata wines for over 25 years. The shop with its green grocery across the road in Swieqi has recently moved to new premises around the corner and morphed into an all-in-one supermarket complex complete with a free multi-storey car park, which is handy for clients wanting to linger in its well-stocked wine cellar.

In recognition of being in business with the Delicata winery for more than 18 years, Gold distinction honours went to Kantina Café in Valletta’s picturesque St. John’s Square. The eatery with a bustling terrace where one can watch the world go by over a glass of wine serves a variety of food from morning till late such as wraps, bagels, baguettes, toasties and specialities of the day which include fresh pasta, fresh fish and grills.

Last but not least, D’Office Bistro, which is located a stone’s throw away just off St George’s Square at the side of the Grand Masters Palace in Valletta, was bestowed with Silver distinction laurels for being a dedicated purveyor of Delicata wines for over 12 years. The establishment is known for doing lunch in the city but is also open for dinner or to relax at any time of day. The menu offers full meals, Maltese specialities as well as platters, all accompanied by a carefully curated Maltese wine selection.

All three establishments were presented with framed certificates of their distinction awards and personalised double magnums of Delicata’s flagship gold-medal winning Gran Cavalier Merlot.

The Delicata Winery Loyalty Awards are soon entering in their seventh year. There are various levels of accomplishment. Selected clients who have been loyal purveyors of Delicata wines for a given number of years are rewarded with either Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum distinctions, depending on how many years they have been in partnership with Malta’s foremost winemaker.

To date, the Delicata winery has awarded 81 business partners in Malta and Gozo: seven specialist, five bronze, nine silver, 22 gold, 29 platinum and nine diamond distinctions.
